Taiwanese Feng Hsin has announced to keep its base price for all of its major steel products flat for this week.
For rebar, Feng Hsin's new base price has stayed at NT$18,200/ton; its price for steel sections has stayed at NT$20,200~NT$20,400/ton and its new scrap collection price will still be NT$11,100~NT$12,000/ton.
The poor sales in last week made Feng Hsin has to keep its price flat, it seems to become the only option for them.
Actually, the current global scrap price has kept increasing but the weak market demand caused Taiwan's rebar mills still have no chance to pass through its increasing cost to buyer's side.
For most of Taiwan's rebar mills, this fourth-quarter is the tough stage for them in business operation.
